This BYTSYZ online course is suitable for

All individuals new to working in the social care environment and who are required to meet the Skills for Care Common Induction Standards (CIS) within the first twelve weeks of commencing work.

Course Description

This BYTSYZ online course is designed to meet the Main Areas of the Common Induction Standards (CIS) relating to the delivery of care and support to service users. This particular qualification covers:

• Main Area 1.1 of Standard 1 (The values)

This online course explores:

• The promotion of human rights and values
• How to support and promote equal opportunities
• Exploration of human characteristics and the part they play in discrimination

This training course is designed solely to meet the needs of the CIS and is not suitable for experienced care workers wishing to extend their knowledge in this area of practice.

Due to the experience and previous knowledge of the individual completing the qualification BYTSYZ has built in explanations of all new and technical terms that the student may be facing for the first time.

To further embed this new and often complex learning BYTSYZ has included a number of care related exercises to encourage:

• Liaison with managers and senior carers to engage with issues at the local level, such as the content and location of local policies and procedures
• The contextualisation of learning
• Consolidation of learning

Below is a table which shows the cross-referencing of each of the BYTSYZ modules for this course to the relevant parts of the CIS, the knowledge criteria of relevant Health and Social care NVQ units and the relevant sections of the GSCC Code for Workers.

3. Explain the term "diversity" and the need to support, respect and support diversity and culture, whilst preventing discrimination for all individuals
