Course Description

This course is designed for individuals who have to communicate as part of their work role within a care setting and covers the important stages of the communication process, as well as exploring the consequences when things go wrong. The course explores:

  • The reasons for communication
  • How we communicate
  • The communication process
  • Reasons for and how to maintain confidentiality
  • Barriers to communication and how to overcome them
  • Use of touch in communication
  • Purpose of and maintaining accurate records,

The course is designed for care workers wishing to extend their knowledge in this area of practice.

To further embed this new and often complex learning BYTSYZ has included a number of care related exercises to encourage:

  • Liaison with managers and senior carers to engage with issues at the local level, such as the content and location of local policies and procedures
  • The contextualisation of learning
  • Consolidation of learning

Just completed communication skills level 2 ... very interesting and helpful.

Myself and other colleges completed a Diabetes level 3 and found this very informative its laid out very well and easy to understand. The time to do the trial assessments is also good. I have been supporting a young girl for 7 yrs who is type 1 diabetic, I ave been on Paula Carr training but BYTSYZ training I have found much more informative for our needs which has leed to 3 staff members to now be able to observed for insulin administration. I would highly reccomend this type of Training to all in in care/support work. I would like to also thank BYTSYZ member of staff who has been on the end of the phone when ever I needed him and found him very helpful. I am just copmleting another course and hopefull many more.
