Back to Common Induction Standards courses
This suite of five online courses is designed to provide a structured approach for meeting the Common Induction Standards (CIS), covering all the outcomes contained within the CIS. These standards are designed to provide a coherent start for workers in the first 12 weeks of employment.
Working through these BYTSYZ online courses and thus meeting the requirements of the CIS will help ensure that staff new to the care industry are safe to take responsibility for the individuals they support.
Where care workers are required to perform tasks not covered by the Common Induction Standards, BYTSYZ recommends that appropriate training is provided before such tasks are undertaken. BYTSYZ also has a range of courses to help in these situations e.g. administering medicines.
Each of the five courses that make up the induction course suite is mapped against the:
Due to the nature of the CIS there is a small number of the outcomes that require sign off at local level. To facilitate this process, for each course in the induction suite, BYTSYZ has produced an evidence map that shows which outcomes have been covered entirely by the BYTSYZ course and which outcomes require a local sign off. Managers will need to confirm that each of these criterion has been met by signing and dating the space provided.
Once all five courses have been completed and the relevant sections signed off at local level, the care worker will have a complete package of evidence to prove coverage of the Common Induction Standards.
All five courses in the suite are designed in standard BYTSYZ format in that they are:
Please note that this suite of online courses is designed solely to meet the requirements of the CIS and as such do not go into the level of detail a regular qualification would do on the topic. These online courses, do however, cover the CIS thoroughly.
Below is a breakdown of the five BYTSYZ online courses that comprise the BYTSYZ induction suite, along with the mapping to the CIS.
